When Jersey City-based journalist and former reporter for the New York Times and the Star-Ledger John Holl began research for his forthcoming book “Dishing Up New Jersey,” he thought of McLoone’s. Hailing from South Orange, NJ, Holl was familiar with Tim McLoone and his restaurants. Holl’s book, which will include recipes and profiles of popular, familiar, well respected restaurants in New Jersey, will be published by Storey in late 2015. His mission is to encourage readers to engage with restaurants, farms and even boardwalk stands that are decidedly Jersey in character.
Today at McLoone’s Asbury Grille, Holl and his team photographed executive chef Evan Victor and the signature entrees that will represent McLoone’s in “Dishing Up New Jersey.” Look for Holl’s book near the holidays, and try your hand at the recipes our executive chefs have shared.
