Monthly Archives: June 2015
Visit McLoone’s Asbury Grille every other Monday and you’ll find The Tim McLoone Radio Show recording live from the piano. Tim and co-host Amy Broza discuss music, arts, philanthropy, sports and just about everything in between with special guests.
Last night Tim and Amy spoke with actor Gary Cole, who you may recognize from HBO series Veep, or movies Office Space and Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Biniam Tekola, and Wendie Malick. All are members of the cast of Closure, a play directed by Richard Dresser. The play will premier Saturday, June 27th at the New Jersey Repertory Company in Long Branch, and run through July 19th. Closure, a story about one girl’s disappearance from Spring Break and efforts to find her is described as an “…intricate noir style drama” on NJ Repertory Company’s website. Tune into AM970 The Answer on Sunday morning at 11 o’clock to hear more.

Do you ever ask your server for the recipe of your favorite restaurant’s dish?
When Jersey City-based journalist and former reporter for the New York Times and the Star-Ledger John Holl began research for his forthcoming book “Dishing Up New Jersey,” he thought of McLoone’s. Hailing from South Orange, NJ, Holl was familiar with Tim McLoone and his restaurants. Holl’s book, which will include recipes and profiles of popular, familiar, well respected restaurants in New Jersey, will be published by Storey in late 2015. His mission is to encourage readers to engage with restaurants, farms and even boardwalk stands that are decidedly Jersey in character.
Today at McLoone’s Asbury Grille, Holl and his team photographed executive chef Evan Victor and the signature entrees that will represent McLoone’s in “Dishing Up New Jersey.” Look for Holl’s book near the holidays, and try your hand at the recipes our executive chefs have shared.
